TikTok link formats explained

TikTok hands out several kinds of links. Short ones like vm.tiktok.com/… redirect to a long one like tiktok.com/@user/video/1234…. SnaqTik accepts all of them — here is what each part means.
The common shapes

The long number is the video ID
The 19-digit number after /video/ identifies the post. Short links are just pointers to it — SnaqTik follows the pointer to find the ID.
The stuff after the question mark
Copied links often end with ?_t=…&_r=1 or ?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc. These are tracking and sharing codes, not part of the video. You can delete everything from the ? onwards before sharing a link with friends; the video still opens.
Links that will not work
- Profile links (
tiktok.com/@name) — they point to a person, not one video. - Links to private or deleted posts.
- Links with missing characters from a bad copy — see fixing "invalid link".
Frequently asked questions
Do short links expire?
They usually keep working as long as the video exists. If a short link fails, open it in a browser to get the long link and use that.
Does removing the ?… part break the link?
No. The video ID in the path is all that matters for opening the post.
