Set a TikTok video as your wallpaper

Moving wallpapers are possible on most phones, but each brand does it differently. Samsung supports short video lock screens natively; iPhone needs the clip turned into a Live Photo first.
Samsung Galaxy
- Save the clip (MP4).
- Long-press an empty spot on the home screen → Wallpaper and style → Change wallpapers → choose the video from Gallery.
- Samsung asks you to trim it — lock-screen videos are limited to a short length (about 15 seconds) and a modest file size.
Other Android phones
Some brands (Xiaomi, OPPO and others) offer video or "dynamic" wallpapers in their Themes or Wallpaper app. Otherwise, a reputable "video wallpaper" app from Google Play can do it — check its permissions first (red-flag permissions).
iPhone
- Turn the clip into a Live Photo with a converter app from the App Store.
- Settings → Wallpaper → Add New Wallpaper → Photos → pick the Live Photo.
- Recent iOS versions play the motion when you wake the lock screen.
Tips
- Choose a calm, loop-friendly clip; busy clips make icons hard to read.
- Moving wallpapers use a little more battery.
- Vertical TikToks fit phone screens perfectly — no cropping needed.
Frequently asked questions
Does the wallpaper play sound?
No. Video wallpapers are silent.
Why can't I select my video on Samsung?
It may be too long or too large; trim it first, or save the standard MP4 rather than HD.
Will a Live Photo wallpaper drain my iPhone battery?
Only slightly — it plays briefly when the screen wakes.
