Send large video files without losing quality
SnaqTik · 2026-10-07
Sending a video "as video" in most chat apps re-compresses it. To keep full quality, send it as a file/document or share a cloud link. Email is fine only for small clips.
Typical limits
| Service | As video | As file / document |
|---|---|---|
| Compressed | Up to 2 GB, original quality | |
| Telegram | Compressed by default | Up to 2 GB (more with Premium) |
| Email (Gmail, Outlook) | About 20–25 MB attachments; larger files become a Drive/OneDrive link | |
Limits change over time; the pattern — video mode compresses, file mode does not — stays the same.
Send as a document
In WhatsApp, tap the attach icon → Document → pick the MP4. In Telegram, choose File instead of Gallery, or untick compression.
Share a cloud link
Upload to Google Drive, iCloud or OneDrive and share a link. Best for many clips or for people on other platforms.
When you do want smaller files
- Send the standard MP4 instead of HD.
- Trim the clip to the part that matters (see clipping and trimming).
- Use a free compressor like HandBrake on a computer.
Credit the creator when you share — it is good manners and often required.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my friend receive a blurry version?
The app compressed it in video mode. Resend it as a document or link.
Will the receiver be able to play a document-mode MP4?
Yes, they tap it to open in their video player.
Is it OK to forward other people's TikToks?
Sharing privately with friends is common; re-posting publicly needs the creator's permission.
Paste a TikTok link, pick a format, done. Free, HD, watermark-free.
