Download your own TikTok data
SnaqTik · 2026-10-07
TikTok has an official "Download your data" tool. It gives you a file with your profile, activity and history. Combine it with SnaqTik to also keep copies of your own videos before you delete an account or switch phones.
Request the file
- In TikTok: Profile → ☰ → Settings and privacy → Account → Download your data.
- Choose what to include and the format: TXT (easy to read) or JSON (for tools).
- Tap Request data. Preparing it can take a few days.
- Return to the Download data tab and download the file while it is available — the link expires after a few days.
What is inside
Typically: profile information, login history, watch history, likes, comments, messages, and lists of your posts. Exact contents change as TikTok updates the tool.
Keeping your videos as files
Your own public posts can be saved like any other: copy the link from each post and paste it into SnaqTik. For posts set to private, switch them to public temporarily or use TikTok's own Save video option on your post.
Before deleting an account
- Request the data file first.
- Save the videos you care about.
- Back up your drafts — they are only on your phone: see backing up drafts.
