Back up TikTok drafts
SnaqTik · 2026-10-07
TikTok drafts are stored only on your phone — not in your account. Uninstall the app, reset the phone or switch devices, and they are gone. Here is how to rescue them first.
Method 1: save each draft to your device
- Open the draft (Profile → Drafts).
- Go to the posting screen and look for Save to device (under More options in many versions) and turn it on.
- Post it with Who can watch → Only me. TikTok saves a copy to your gallery and the post stays private.
Method 2: post privately, then download
Post the draft as Only me. Later, open the post and use TikTok's Save video, or make it public briefly and save it with SnaqTik, then set it back to private.
Method 3: export from an editor
If you made the draft in CapCut or another editor, the project usually still exists there. Export it again from the editor at full quality.
Before switching phones
- Count your drafts and rescue each one with a method above.
- Copy the saved videos to the new phone (see moving between iPhone and Android).
- Only then uninstall TikTok or reset the old phone.
Frequently asked questions
Do drafts sync to my TikTok account?
No. Drafts are local to the device where you made them.
Does clearing TikTok's cache delete drafts?
Clearing the cache does not, but uninstalling the app does.
Will private posts lose quality?
No more than any TikTok post. For maximum quality, keep the original export from your editor too.
Paste a TikTok link, pick a format, done. Free, HD, watermark-free.
