How to spot fake download buttons
SnaqTik · 2026-10-07
On many downloader sites the biggest, greenest "DOWNLOAD" button is an ad. Real downloads never ask you to install anything, never leave the site, and always give you a .mp4, .mp3 or image file.
Five signs a button is fake
- It appears before you pasted a link. There is nothing to download yet, so it must be an ad.
- It opens a new site — the address bar changes to an unknown domain.
- It asks you to install an app, extension, "player" or "codec".
- It shows a scary warning: "Your phone has 3 viruses", "Battery damaged".
- The file ends in .apk, .exe, .dmg or .zip. Videos are .mp4.
What a real download looks like
On SnaqTik, buttons appear only after you paste a link, directly under the video preview, labelled with the format (MP4, HD, MP3, photos). Clicking one saves a file and keeps you on snaqtik.com. SnaqTik opens a sponsored tab only if you tick that box yourself — it is off by default.
If you already clicked one
- Close the tab; do not tap "Allow" on notification prompts.
- Delete any file that is not a video, sound or picture.
- If you allowed notifications, remove the site in your browser's Settings → Site settings → Notifications.

Frequently asked questions
Is an ad blocker a good idea?
It reduces fake buttons on other sites. SnaqTik works the same with or without one.
Why do downloader sites show so many ads?
Running servers costs money and many sites pay for it with aggressive ads. Prefer sites that keep ads minimal and clearly labelled.
I allowed notifications and now get spam — what do I do?
Remove the site from your browser's notification permissions. The spam stops immediately.
Paste a TikTok link, pick a format, done. Free, HD, watermark-free.
