Downloaded TikTok has no sound?

A silent download almost always has one of four causes: the sound was muted by TikTok, your media volume is down, the player cannot decode the audio, or the post was a photo slideshow. Check them in this order.
1. TikTok muted the sound
When a sound is removed for copyright reasons, TikTok shows "This sound isn't available" and the video plays silently in the app too. There is no audio left to download. Open the post in TikTok — if it is silent there, the file will be silent everywhere.
2. Media volume and mute switches
- Android: press volume up while the video plays — the slider that appears must be "Media", not "Ring".
- iPhone: the side Ring/Silent switch does not mute videos in Photos, but Bluetooth headphones might still be connected.
- Laptop: check the player's own volume as well as the system volume.
3. The player cannot decode the audio
Rare with TikTok files, but older players and some TVs choke on certain AAC variants. Try VLC; if it plays with sound there, the file is fine.
4. It was a photo slideshow
Photo posts have music laid over images. Saving the images alone gives silent pictures. Use the MP3 tool for the music, or follow saving slideshows as video.
Still silent?
Download the same link again with a different option (standard instead of HD). If both are silent and the app plays sound, the post may use a sound that is restricted in download versions.
Frequently asked questions
The TikTok app plays sound but my file doesn't — why?
Some licensed music is streamed separately in the app and not included in downloadable versions. Try the MP3 option to see if the sound is available on its own.
Can SnaqTik restore a muted sound?
No. If TikTok removed the audio, it no longer exists on TikTok's servers.
Why is only one side of my headphones playing?
Some creators upload mono or badly mixed audio. That is in the original upload.
Paste a TikTok link, pick a format, done. Free, HD, watermark-free.
